1:54 PST: A pre-show show on E! just brought a semi-amusing moment in the form of Giuliana Rancic and Kendra Baskett (best known as one of Hugh Hefner's former girlfriends) being freaked out by a baby alligator swiping it's tail at them. They then went to some pen that had three goats and tried to startle them so the goats' muscles would stiffen up and they "faint." Of course none of the goats found the women to be threatening and just went about their business.
2:50 PST: In a side-conversation with a friend, this memorable quote came up:
[14:44] Jacob: http://cdn.buzznet.com/media/jj1//2010/03/mckenzie-hirsch/ben-mckenzie-emile-hirsch-independent-spirits-03.jpg --- you might like that
[14:44] Jillian: he can vacuum my carpet any day
[14:45] Jillian: that sounded dirtier than i meant it to
3:05 PST: And E!'s pre-show is underway. Every year, I hope someone punches or insults Ryan Seacrest because that would be hilarious. Will it happen this year? Sam Worthington just made an appearance and Zac Effron just showed up and said "Avatar" was "a masterpiece."
3:13 PST: Heh, it's raining and being that they're Californians, they're all, "OMG! WHAT IS THIS!"
3:26 PST: The Mayor of Los Angeles just shared his two cents to Ryan Seacrest and Zoe Saldana in that "Avatar" was the best movie of the year. Good to know.
3:41 PST: Today is Peter Sarsgaard's birthday and he would like someone to sing "Happy Birthday" to him.
3:50 PST: It's a Lenny Kravitz sighting. At the Oscars. That's right people, Lenny Kravitz at the Oscars.
4:01 PST: And there's Tyler Perry, probably using the time on the red carpet as footage for another Tyler Perry movie where Tyler Perry does something. Tyler Perry.
4:04 PST: And for some reason that only he would know, Mickey Rooney is at the Oscars.
4:18 PST: Either Kathryn Bigelow is a tall woman or Ryan Seacrest is a tiny man. The correct answer is both.
4:26 PST: MATT DAMON!
4:30 PST: This is why George Clooney is cool. He knows that Jeff Bridges will always be known as The Dude.
4:43 PST: I want Tony Stark's glasses.
4:52 PST: THE DUDE!
4:59 PST: I have never understood the appeal of Cameron Diaz and I probably never will.
5:01 PST: Time to switch to ABC's piss-poor production of a pre-show.
5:03 PST: Did George Clooney just decide for the hell of it to fence in a bunch of people?
5:11 PST: Helen Mirren and Christopher Plummer...two old people that can kick your ass.
5:20 PST: Okay, that commercial with Whoppi Goldberg was funny.
5:21 PST: "Now you do know that this isn't the Emmys right?" --- what kind of retarded question is that? Who the hell are these red carpet "reporters?"
5:25 PST: Remember people where Taylor Lautner got his start...SHARK BOY!
5:31 PST: IT'S A ROBIN WILLIAMS SIGHTING! What are the odds he's not on crack?
5:32 PST: DOOGIE!
5:34 PST: So, any guesses as to how drunk Alec Baldwin is?
5:39 PST: YES! A reference to Steve Martin's classic, "The Jerk."
5:43 PST: George Clooney looks really surly and wants to punch someone.
5:44 PST: Oh Penelope Cruz...

6:46 PST: The producers are showing no mercy in cutting people off during their speeches, and rightfully so. Really, people should always come prepared and have something to say instead of "uh..."

AND THE OSCAR GOES TO: "The Hurt Locker" wins the Best Sound Editing Oscar.
AND THE OSCAR GOES TO: "The Hurt Locker" wins the Best Sound Mixing Oscar.
7:27 PST: It's always funny when someone is nominated in two categories, they win it and have to come back onto the stage.

7:38 PST: Wow...former President James Taylor. DON'T FORGET THE WORDS!

AND THE OSCAR GOES TO: "Up" wins the Best Original Score Oscar.
AND THE OSCAR GOES TO: "Avatar" wins the Best Visual Effects Oscar.
7:58 PST: I've lost count on how many times they've shown George Clooney. He's gone from looking bored, to wanting to punch someone, to just being George Clooney.
AND THE OSCAR GOES TO: "The Cove" wins the Best Documentary Feature Oscar.
8:04 PST: And that is why their speech got cut off. Advice: Don't have an agenda and think you can soapbox it at the Oscars. The show is political enough.
