A while back we had a series of interviews here on Critiqulous. Writers, actors, radio DJs, the like. I had fun coming up with questions to send to people and getting some interesting answers. I knew that this was something I'd like to keep on doing.

Let me introduce to you to Mia Yim. Currently she is an independent wrestler, working in small promotions in the east coast. However in 2010, she aims to get her name out there in the wrestling world and after a solid match with one of the elites in women's professional wrestling in the form of Sara Del Rey, her momentum is only climbing. Click the jump to see who were her wrestling inspirations, who she would like to have a match with, her thoughts on the San Diego Chargers cutting LaDanian Tomlinson, and more as honestly and bluntly as she can. Also behind the jump, you can see a couple pictures of her in action as well as the aforementioned match with Sara Del Rey.
CRITIQULOUS: Growing up, who were the wrestlers you watched that gave you the inspiration to get into the business?
MIA YIM: When I really got into it and what wanted me to wrestle was watching Trish Stratus and Lita. Thought they were the most badass chicks in the business. You've said that the peak of your wrestling career so far is a match with the great Sara Del Rey and rightfully so. That was a solid match and fantastic effort on your part. That being said, who is on your wishlist of wrestlers you'd like to work with in the future?
I'd like to work Sara again, def. I'd also like to work (Ayako) Hamada, Cheerleader Melissa, Ayumi Kurihara, and Mercedes Martinez. If you had the opportunity to do an international tour, working for either a Mexican or Japanese wrestling promotion, which would you choose, Mexico or Japan?
I would love to go to both but i am more interested in going to Japan! SUSHI OVERLOAD!You have a black belt in Tae Kwan Do. Have you given consideration in taking that skill and what you've learned in wrestling and crossing into MMA in the future?
I like MMA, but I don't think I am ready for it. MMA is a bit too much for me, I wouldn't mind boxing though. In your wrestling career so far, have you ran into "those people in the audience" that refuse to acknowledge the fact that you and so many other female wrestlers are putting in the hard work to become accomplished wrestlers and would rather just see you strip and be used as eye candy? How do you deal with basically that sense of ignorance?
Sex sells, so obviously most of the girls are going to have sexy gear on but we are WRESTLERS. If you wanna see eye candy or strippers, go to a fuckin strip club or a mud wrestling or oil wrestling event, but if you come to an actual wrestling show, DON'T expect nude chicks and stuff. I tend to brush 'em off, laugh it off or whatever but I just keep on moving. For one ignorant fuck, there are more respectable fans that appreciate the athleticism. With TNA and WWE being the "two big ones" in the industry, which promotion do you think makes the best use of their female wrestler roster? Which one has the better roster overall?
I always thought TNA used the women best as wrestlers. Both companies have some good female workers. If you were to start your own wrestling promotion and can pick 5 male wrestlers and 5 female wrestlers and they can be anyone in the world, who would they be?
Males: I would have Samoa Joe, Evan Bourne, John Kermon, Sonjay Dutt, and I can't think of a 5th, lol. Females: Sara Del Ray, Annie Social, Hamada, Hailey Hatred, and Sumie Sakai. What's been the best advice someone has given you in or out of the ring?
In the ring: "Don't kick like a girl. So many girls kick weak and makes them look weak. Don't be one of those girls" - Sara Del Ray. This created my 'Kick Me Goodnight' finish :) I thank her for my infamous kicks.
Out the ring: "There is going to be a lot of jealous people. Some people may be your friend, but just look out for yourself and don't deal with that bullshit. Continue to do you, and I believe you will make it" - Jimmy Cicero.
Let's take a break from the interview and watch the match between Mia Yim and Sara Del Rey. Mia considers it to be the high point in her young career so far.
Switching from wrestling and just general topics, what was the last movie you saw (at home or in the theaters) and what did you think of it?
"Sherlock Holmes" on DVD. Def. didn't expect it to be so good. Probably one of the best movies ever. I don't go to movie theaters only because my bf is deaf and the theaters usually don't have captions. What are the five most played songs on your iPod?
LOL this would be so easy if I had an iPod...As a Chargers fan, how did you feel about them releasing LaDanian Tomlinson? What do you think they need to address with the NFL Draft this week?
I think its bullshit!!! Ugh...I've just been too busy lately to focus on the draft lol, so I am in the clouds bout the draft now.Last question, what does 2010 have in store for you? Is there a chance we'll be seeing you work for promotions like Ring Of Honor and/or SHIMMER? Will there be championship gold around your waist this year?
I see success :) I can't wait, I am def going to try and aim for ROH and SHIMMER and other big promotions. Trust me, you are going to see a lot more of me ^.^
And to close out the interview, here are a couple pictures of Mia in action. It was a pleasure to interview Mia and I do look forward to seeing her stock rise and becoming a name to look out for in the world of wrestling. Thanks Mia! Fun fact, Mia celebrated her birthday yesterday, so head over to her MySpace page and send her some birthday wishes.
