J. Bair's 10 Rap Classics

A few days ago, I did a piece about Harrisburg, PA rapper J. Monday and his summer mixtape "The Sequel." You can read about it here (or just look a couple entries down). Today I get an e-mail from another rapper from Harrisburg with a track to listen. "10 Rap Classics" by J. Bair, and in this, he lists his top ten rap albums, or if you will, the ten rap albums anyone should listen to. Here are his ten rap classics.

KRS-One "Criminal Minded"
Wu-Tang Clan "Enter The 36 Chambers"
Public Enemy "It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back"
Eric B. & Rakim "Paid In Full"
Dr. Dre "The Chronic"
Jay-Z "Reasonable Doubt"
2 Pac "Me Against The World"
Kanye West "College Dropout"
Nas "Illmatic"
The Notorious B.I.G "Life After Death"

I for one cannot argue with that list. The only exception is I would prefer Jay-Z's second album, "In My Lifetime, Volume 1," mainly because of the video for 'The City Is Mine,' which was a great ode to the film "The Usual Suspects." That said, J. Bair has crafted a sharp track about some really good albums. Without a doubt, rap classics. I mean, "The Chronic," that's a classic; who didn't feel they had just a bit more swagger whenever 'Nuthin But A G Thang' was playing? It's always interesting to hear what albums influenced someone in the game of rap, and in the case of J. Bair, he made a song about it. Good deal.

Could we be witnessing Harrisburg as the new hotbed of rap and hip-hop?
Give it a listen for yourself. Here's the video for "10 Rap Classics."

j bair is a true hip-hop artist. he is the beez neez. he's got skill, flow, lyrics...but on top of that he lives a hip hop life and is a role model to the youth of his city & promotes positivity. he is definitely someone you should give a listen to, you won't regret it but you might get a case of the pringles...he's addictive...
